APPLE & CARAMEL PIZZA PIE

Ingredients
  • FOR THE BASE:
  • Mevalia Low Protein Pizza Base 1
  • melted butter 10 g
  • cinnamon 1/2 tsp
  • FOR THE FILLING:
  • Bramley apples, peeled and finely diced 200 g
  • Mevalia bread mix 1/2 tbsp
  • brown sugar 2 tbsp
  • cinnamon 1/2 tsp
  • nutmeg 1/4 tsp
  • FOR THE TOPPING CRUMBLE:
  • Mevalia bread mix 50 g
  • Cold butter 25 g
  • Brown sugar 25 g
  • FOR THE CARAMEL SAUCE:
  • Butter 25 g
  • Brown sugar 25 g
  • Mevalia, Lattis/ PROZERO 25 ml
  • MEVALIA BREAD MIX 1/2 tsp
Preparation
6-8 portions

Firstly peel and dice the apples then toss them with the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Preheat oven to 180c.

Lightly brush the pizza base with the melted butter, cinnamon and place on a baking sheet.

Spread the apples on top of the Mevalia pizza base. 

To make the crumble topping - mix together the Mevalia bread mix  and brown sugar. Then incorporate the cold butter until replicates breadcrumbs.

Sprinkle it over the apples.

Bake in the oven for 14-16 minutes or until the crumble is golden brown.

Meanwhile melt the butter in a small sauce pan then add the brown sugar. Heat until the sugar has dissolved, then add the Mevalia Lattis/ PROZERO. Reduce slightly until the sauce comes together.  Add a drop of water to the MEVALIA BREAD MIX and make it into a thin paste before whisking into the sauce to thicken further.

Allow to cool slightly then drizzle over the warm pizza pie
